Kerry Washington Shares Swimsuit Photo "Sending You Love" Celebwell

Kerry Washington is feeling the love – in her swimsuit. In one of her latest posts, the Scandal star shows off her famous figure in a burgundy bathing suit. "Sending you love comfort peace and resilience wherever you are," she captioned the Instagram post. "This what you look like just chillin?!" commented Issa Rae. "Obsessed with you," added another follower. How does the mother-of-one keep herself fit? Read on to see 6 of Kerry Washington's workouts that help her stay in shape and the photos that prove they work.

Kerry is a fan of this elongating workout. "I'm a big Pilates girl," Kerry told ELLE. "You don't even want to be in your own body when [you] show up at the gym—I didn't for years," Kerry told Women's Health. "As women, we live in this culture where it's like, 'You have to fix this.' Pilates has allowed me to be focused on my appearance and my health in ways that are not abusive or critical."

"I love to work out. It's really important to me; it's part of the culture of my family," she told Allure. One of her favorite classes? SoulCycle. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is great for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.

Kerry is a big fan of yoga, explaining that it helps her "reset, regroup and relax," she revealed in a recent Instagram post. "I love to do simple stretches and breathing that keep me centered, embodied and at peace." There is a laundry list of reasons to do yoga, explains Harvard Health. "Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood," they said. "People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating."

Kerry is one of the many stars who have been seen hopping on a JumpSport trampoline, which was gifted to her by pal Eva Longoria. "Thank you @evalongoria for the #SisterhoodOfTheTravelingTrampoline. I promise I will keep jumpin' so I can get on your level. You make it look easy!!!!!" she captioned a hilarious video of herself on the piece of workout equipment.

Kerry also likes to get wet and exercise. "I do different things, but I'm most obsessed with water aerobics. Now I do it with my friends on the weekends."

Another outdoor workout Kerry is obsessed with? "I love to hike," she told Elle. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.
