Listening to ‘Mercury Lane’ it is incredibly hard to believe that this is Jimmie Allen’s debut album. It is such an accomplished, polished record it feels like he has been doing this for years. Allen has only been on the scene for just over a year but he is already fast becoming everyone’s go-to Country artist and this record will only add fans to his growing fanbase.

The 15-track CD includes breathtaking songs such as ‘Deserve To Be’, ‘How To Be Single’ ‘Like You Do’, ‘High Life’ and ‘Back Of Your Mind’. It’s a real eclectic mix of all out Country-Pop anthems, stripped back ballads, and soul-bearing heartfelt numbers.

‘Mercury Lane’ is one of those records that listeners will have on repeat until the sophomore drops. This isn’t a one listen type of LP. It’s one that will have you discovering a new favourite song with each listen and you’ll be falling in love with the gorgeous tones of Jimmie with every spin.

Real standouts include the stunning ’21’, the heartfelt ‘Like You Do’, the toe-tapping ‘Back Of Your Mind’ and the outstanding ‘Boy Gets A Truck’. Overall this is a coming of age Country album that firmly puts Jimmie Allen on the map as the most exciting male Country artist currently on the scene.
